Historic Day

Tuesday was a historic day for our country, for our world. I have been reading blogs, and listening to the radio and feel so sad that people will not even watch the inauguration or let alone give this man a chance. I feel sad to hear so much hatred, ignorance, and racism come to surface.

I was in Canada over the weekend and was able to talk to quite a few people about the events going on in our country. Everyone is watching our country waiting to see what will we do, if we will once again become the beacon and guide that we once were. I hope and pray that this man will have the knowledge and wisdom to take us out of the gigantic mess that has been dug during the past 8 years. How sad that people cannot put personal opinions behind them and rejoice in the historic occasion. I know that President Obama cannot fix everything that is ailing in this country, but I think it is my duty as an American to a least give him a chance. If he isn't given a chance, he is therefore doomed to fail... and along with him so will we.

I pray for this man. I pray for our country. I pray that people will give him a chance, and be open to the changes that may come, because things obviously aren't working the way they are.

I couldn't agree more. It makes me so sad to see so many people posting negative things about what is going on. Even if you didn't vote for Obama, or even if you don't really like him...now is the time to put your personal differences aside and have faith in something new.

My friend works at American Heritage - a Mormon school. She said parents refused to let their kids watch the inaugaration and some kids even said they hoped Obama would be assassinated. Isn't that so awful?! Kids are listening and we need to set the right example.

Can I get an AMEN! I was in DC for it and there was nothing but love. I left with a lot of hope and a lot of resolutions to get to work together.
